This week in our Getting-to-Know-You series, we would like you to meet our Director of Activities, JC Coats.  JC found his way to healthcare from a career in marketing. While working a side job with his dad as a porter in a nursing home, he captured the attention of the activities director. She saw a spark in JC, took him under her wing and showed him the ropes. From the moment he got involved with the seniors, and learned about all aspects of the activities department, JC was hooked and he’s never looked back. He realized that working with the senior community is fulfilling on many levels. “I love the healthcare business, and knowing that I can make a difference in someone’s life, makes me feel whole.” Every month, JC creates a robust activities calendar for our patients on all three floors. Whether it’s keeping our patients and residents moving with a Zumba or Tai Chi class, or filling the halls with music from a strolling minstrel, JC always makes sure there is a diverse range of events at Sprain Brook. JC’s creative background in marketing has come in handy as activities director and it’s no surprise that arts & crafts sessions are his favorite. In addition to being a rock star employee at Sprain Brook, JC also has his own photography business, JC JPG Photography. In fact, most of the photos you see on our website and in our marketing materials were taken by JC. He’s been with Sprain Brook Manor for the past five years, and in that time, has found that working here is more than just a job. “What I love most about our facility is that we truly put our resident’s interests above all things….Sprain Brook Manor is more than a rehab or nursing facility, we are a family.”
